Showcase Sunday #6

Showcase Sunday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vicky at the Books, Biscuits and Tea blog. It is a meme inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren. The goal of this meme is for us bookish peeps to showcase & highlight the books that we have either bought, borrowed, won, downloaded, or received for review the past week :)

BOUGHT

1. Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

2. Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel (UK Edition)

3. Beastly by Alex Flinn (Deluxe Edition w/Lindy's Diary)

4. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey

5. McGraw-Hill's French Student Dictionary

Sidenote: Ohmygosh you guys. I am so excited about my UK copy of Infinite Days. It is my favorite book and though the US edition is gorgeous, I just had to get the UK one, too.

I also have read Beastly. Loved the book, loved the movie (w/ the lovely Alex Pettyfer :D). I just had to get this deluxe edition because the cover is stunning. I always thought the first cover was too blah with that one flower. Not inspiring to this bookcover geek so yea. I spotted this at Books-a-Million and just had to get it.

Jessica's Guide. I have read as well. But I did a book exchange and now my original copy is living somewhere in Germany w/ the super awesome Caro from D'sBookworld. But yea, this was on sale for 3 dollars y'all and I was like, "heck yes, this baby is mine" - it is an amazinggggg book. Can't wait to read the sequel.

My french student dictionary. I'm excited about it as well because I took French classes for years but since I barely practice it with anyone anymore I just needed to touch up on my basics. Though I can still count in French and can read most of it, I need my refreshers and student dictionaries are always great for that.

So if you read through all of that. Thanks so much :D:D I appreciate it <3

What book loveliness did you receive this week? :)

  1. I have Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side on my Nook but I have yet to read it. Is it any good? And Infinite Days really does have a nice cover. I might add it to my list just for that, haha.

    1. Jessica's Guide is amazinggg. The cover and title of the book do not do it justice, in my opinion. It is soo good.

Haha, Yay for liking the Infinite Days cover. I love it. It's a great book. The US cover, is really stunning, as well. :)

  2. Lots of awesome books! I agree, Beastly is awesome! I loved it! I still have yet to see the movie. I'm like the only one ever. Lol. I still have yet to read Jessica's Guide. My friend read it and loved it and everyone else seems to like it.

Btw, you gave me the idea to participate in Sunday Showcase. I use to do IMM but felt like I shouldn't cause of all the controversy. So yeah :)

    1. Yay, Olivia. So glad you are now participating in Showcase Sunday and I hear you!

Thanks, girl! :) The movie for Beastly was soo cute. It is different from the book in many ways but I loved it anyway. Though, I may be biased because I lovee Alex Pettyfer so much, haha.

Oh and Jessica's Guide is sooo good. That book surprised me so much. It was not what I was expecting but in a good way. It lives up to its hype. ;)

  3. If you loved JESSICA'S GUIDE... then look into her other book JEKEL LOVES HYDE. She does a good job and introduces a new cool twist. I haven't read the sequel yet, but plan to. I agree about the BEASTLY cover. Absolutely gorgeous. I enjoyed both the book and movie as well. I haven't read STORM yet, though I have it, and I also have INFINITE DAYS and haven't read it yet either.

  4. First: Alex Pettyfer in the Beastly movie? YES PLEASE! x)

And you have so much awesomeness in your mailbox, Jen! I love love LOVED Storm (because all of the Merrick brothers are seriously awesome), and I keep meaning to pick up Jessica's Guide but haven't yet. I think there's a deal on it at my local bookstore, so I hope I love it like you did. And I giggled at your French student dictionary -- it's my fave second language, I think!

Amazing showcase this week, Jen! ;) <3

Haha. I know, right? Loved Pettyfer in Beastly <3

Ohhh & you have to get Jessica's, Mimi. It is soo good. One word: Lucius. When you read it, you will understand ;) haha.

Really? *high five* Mimi. That is so awesome. I know English & Spanish and have always wanted to be fluent in a 3rd language & French has always held this huge appeal to me. I really like it :)

  10. I love that you tossed a French dictionary into the mix. My French has gone to crap, which bums me out. At least I have a French husband who can look over (and clean up!) the French dialogue I use in my books.

    Merci, mon amour!

I decided it was about time I touched up on my French again before I kept on forgetting it.

      And Merci :)
