Waiting on Wednesday (45): A Tale of Two Centuries

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. Visit Breaking The Spine to see more entries!

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
A Tale of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris
Release Date:  August 6th 2013 by Entangled
Format: Paperback

 Goodreads Summary:
Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

Reasons I want to read & own this book:
1. The synopsis. Time travel. Spells. A character named Austin Michaels. What an awesome name, right? I just love the sound of it all.

2. The author. Rachel Harris. I just think Rachel is so awesome. She is super nice and has a massive love for the young adult genre that shows in her writing, on twitter, on her website. This book will be amazing. I know it!

3. The cover. So pretty. I love the blue-ish purple colors on it and the bits of pink (sue me, I'm a girl, of course I'm gonna like it, haha). The girl on the cover has an amazing outfit. A really cool modern loose-fitting sweater/shirt and a whimsical skirt. Maybe a hint that she is not from modern times? I dunno. But I like it. The guy on the cover has a nice modern outfit and I love the slight hint of a city backdrop.

What do you guys think? :)
