In Her Shoes is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vanya at YA Story Teller.
To participate, simply put yourself in the shoes of a heroine you've
recently read about, and then talk about what you would do in her place,
or what you've learned from her.
Featuring this week:
Tate from Defy
Tate is
one of the main characters in the YA fantasy/romance (Firstborn trilogy) by Raine Thomas and the female lead in Defy which is the 1st installment in the trilogy. Personality wise, I would say that Tate is just bad-ass in every sense of the word. And what I loved about her is that she doesn't shove her badassery in your face like some 'badass' heroines do. No. She is badass but she doesn't talk about it, she shows it. With this girl, her kick butt attitude is very natural and because she is so fun, fearless and light hearted, you are never annoyed with her. So there is definitely nothing I would change about her and I like that she doesn't ask permission to do things. If she believes in something, she goes for it and trusts her instincts.
Another amazing quality about Tate is that she is very good hearted and a fearless fighter, both physically and mentally. No one can get past this girl verbally or physically, she sets people straight. I really loved her fearlessness and think that she is one of the most funnest, strong, and dynamic heroines that I've read about in quite a while. And she is so lucky, she gets to hang around Zachariah who is (there are no words to describe his epicness) and yes - I know he is fictional and she is, as well. BUT I'm still jealous :D
LOL, awesome post! Now that series goes onto my tbr, I love badass heroines! And badass that's actually funny and laid-back is even better. Thanks for sharing!! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Caro :)
DeleteAnd YAY glad to hear that. Tate was such a funny and kick-ass heroine. She had an incredibly sharp sense of humor.
Okay, I HAVE to comment because I SO want those shoes!! lol
ReplyDeleteYeah.. I wish I could wear those, they're amazing! *sigh* You manage to pick out nice once every time, Jen. I hope you'll never run out of pics for this meme. x)
DeleteI am right there with you guys, LOL. I want those shoes, too. When I saw them, I fell in love. I thought they were so fabulous!
DeleteCaro --> Thank you :) And no worries there ;) My favorite part of this meme is searching for the shoe pictures. It's so much fun. I have the next four already picked out, lol.
LOL Jen! Loved the shoes!!! I'm glad you're having fun looking for the pictures and also sharing your favorite heroines. That's the point of this meme after all - having fun and talking girls :)))
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my post ;)
I just finished Defy and I LOVED Tate. Simply the fact that she had the guts and humor to call Zachariah - who definitively looked everything from dangerous to a little creepy - Sparky. Omg, I laughed so hard about how they interacted. Esp the end was awesome, they're just so cute together! =)
ReplyDeleteI bet you Sparky would buy those shoes for his girl in a heartbeat - and she'd be more than capable of kicking ass with them! ^^
