Showcase Sunday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vicky at the Books, Biscuits and Tea blog. It is a meme inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren. The goal of this meme is for us bookish peeps to showcase &
highlight the books that we have either bought, borrowed, won,
downloaded, or received for review the past week :)
BOUGHT
1. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly - paperback edition
2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Sidenote: I have actually read both of these already and both are really good. Revolution is a profound YA novel, that is extremely well-written and unique in it's plot-line. I own the hardcover of it but wanted to get the new paperback with the new cover (which I love) and because the hardcover is just a bit too big to carry around. And well, what can I say about Pride and Prejudice. Not only do I love the book, but I love the 2005 film and the BBC mini series as well. Pride and Prejudice is timeless.
What book loveliness did you receive this week? :)
Hi Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that Revolution is released for Kindle in the UK, but it's been a while since it was released.
Ah well, enjoy your reads.
I love Pride and Prejudice :) My favourite Jane Austen is actually Persuasion and this week I'm reading a YA novel inspired by it - For Darkness Shows the Stars.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by YA's the Word
Pride and Prejudice definitely is timeless...and I'll have to look into Revolution!

Pride and Prejudice is an all-time favorite. My Austin paperback collection is back home in Alaska with most my other books. :( But I was happy to score the complete works of Austin FREE on Kindle so I have them near at hand until I settle down somewhere long enough to have my mini library mailed.
ReplyDeleteOh Pride and Prejudice sure is timeless! I haven't come around to read it yet, though, but I will.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding my button to you list *gives bear hug*, but I'm afraid you have to redo it coz the link changed. Sorry about that.
*still bear hugs*won't let go for a week* ^.^
I haven't read Pride & Prejudice but I do love the BBC miniseries! Revolution was amazing--I'm glad you enjoyed it, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat books but I haven't read Pride and Prejudice but I have watched the film and the series. Hope you enjoy your new books and thanks for stopping by my blog :)

Ohh, pretty covers :D Lots of awesome. :) I'm glad you loved them both ;) I have never actually read or seen Pride and Prejudice.. But that is because I know some things about it, and at the moment I hate so many things that I know are in it :p Hih. Maybe when I get older. :) Anyway, have an awesome weeK! :D

Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books too! I just watched the 2006 movie and I thought they did a great job at bringing it to the big scene. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Revolution, but it sounds very profound.
Happy reading !
Oh, I LOVE Pride and Prejudice! Both the book and the film - and the soundtrack! They're fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the other book because I haven't heard about it yet but it looks really good! I hope you'll enjoy both of them. xxx
My sister has Revolution. I don't believe she's read it yet, but she's excited too...she loves history so it seems right up her alley.
