Spark (Elementals #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
Release Date: August 28th 2012
by K-Teen
Format: Paperback
Goodreads Summary:
Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can’t. Like the fire that killed his parents.
Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he’s not doing it.
More than Gabriel’s pride is at stake -- this could cost him his family, maybe his life. And no one seems to hear him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.
Gabriel can’t let her guess about his brothers, about his abilities, about the danger that’s right at his heels. But there are some risks he can’t help taking.
The fuse is lit…

Reasons I want to read & own this book:
1. The characters. I am almost done with reading Storm, the first book in this series, and I just love the Merrick brothers. They all wield a different element. Gabriel is the one who wields fire and he has a very fun and direct personality and I know that him falling for a girl who is a braniac as the synopsis says, is bound to be epic because Gabriel is mischievous. Oooo, I cannot wait!
2. The writing. I just love how easy it is to get lost in Brigid Kemmerer's writing. It is realistic and very fluid. Like, you feel that the dialogue in the book could be conversations that you or people you know have.
What do you guys think? :)
