Showcase Sunday (11) - Stacking the Shelves (3)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vicky at the Books, Biscuits and Tea blog. It is a meme inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren. The goal of this meme is for us bookish peeps to showcase & highlight the books that we have either bought, borrowed, won, downloaded, or received for review the past week :)

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Review to highlight the books us bloggers have gotten during the week, as well.

I like both memes, so I've decided to take part in both =)

BOUGHT

1. Fury by Elizabeth Miles

2. Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

3. The Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith

Sidenote: So, I had put myself on a book buying ban. I have so many books waiting for me already *bites nails* BUT I did the mistake of going to Books-a-million (maybe it was intentional, I will never tell :D) - anywhoo, they had these books on sale and I just had to get them. I'm so excited about Fury because I love Greek Myth and the Furies fascinate me. Along for the Ride would be my first Sarah Dessen book so I am super excited about reading it. And ... I got the Forbidden Game because I just love stories with games in them, reminds me of Jumanji (Don't judge) and all the danger in that and I'm a sucker for a forbidden romance which I think happens in this book so yup, I bought it *like a boss*

What book loveliness did you receive this week? :)

  4. Fury's cover looks GORGEOUS in that picture! Might have to go to the bookstore and check it out for myself, hehe. I've only read Along for the Ride out of those three but wow, your first Sarah Dessen! So exciting. Along for the Ride isn't my favorite book of hers but it's still really cute. Hope you like it Jen!

  8. Jennifer, I've put myself on book buying bans in the past as well! I also have a huge pile here at home that I should read before ever buying another book! These self-imposed bans never seem to last long. Lol!! Can't resist. I have Along for the Ride and haven't read it yet but I've read other Sarah Dessen books and loved them. Just Listen and The Truth About Forever were my favorites. :)

    1. I know, right? I never stick long to my book buying bans either. I try but there are too many books, and too little time :D The life of us bookaholics is not an easy one LOL ;)

I'll definitely be looking up the Sarah Dessen books you mentioned so I can add them to my to-read list. Glad to hear you enjoyed them :)

  10. Hi Jennifer - thanks for stopping by. Total awesomeness hanging out with other YA authors. Best day of the year!

At the library I picked up Fallen by Lauren Kate and Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

I bought Cassandra Clare's box set of three Mortal Instruments Books and am buying up a bunch of indie e-books for my Kindle from a group of talented authors who let me join their gang. :)

We're doing a Book of the Week to help promote each other via our blogs, etc. during the next 10 weeks. My book's first. Erg. I hate going first. I like to see what others do and then copy them! LOL

  14. Ugh. Book buying are horrible but a must sometimes. I look at my overflowing book shelves and I know I shouldn't buy anymore but there are so many pretty covers and stories out there that you need to get. Eeep! xD
I've read Along for the Ride this year and it was my first Sarah Dessen novel. It was really good. Really sweet and a quick read to be honest. I hope you enjoy it. And Fury has such an awesome cover. The red hair is definitely attention grabbing. And Jumanji FTW! Hahaha.
